Syros is the capital of Cyclades. It is 83 nautical miles far away  from the port of Piraeus and 62 nautical miles from Rafina ‘s port. Syros constitutes the administrative, intellectual, cultural and commercial center of Cyclades. It has 25.000 residents approximately and its capital is Ermoupolis.

It is an excellent destination and rather touristically popular since it combines captivating beaches, impressive sights, organised tourist substructure and unique natural beauty.

Galissas is a beautiful settlement on the west side of Syros, a former rural village, where in the last years has gained a reputation among the most popular resorts of the island. It has a magnificent sandy beach and exquisite natural environment, ideal for strolls.

Galissas is also very popular for its enchanting images and unique blinks of colour which appear when the sun sets. Galissas has got market and a great number of taverns, restaurants, cafeterias, bars and night clubs.

Local cuisine

In Syros it is compelled to taste marsh-mellows and nougats, but also traditional flavours in the local taverns, such as cuttlefish with spinach pies, stuffed cabbage leaves with raisins, crumpled eggs, chickpea salad, crabsalad etc.
